Good Bye 2006. Hello 2007! :)

Heylo! Sufian here! :) I'm so proud that we have our very own YSSB Blog! Thanks to the people that contributed this. :)

Well, I want to thank Ms Tan and Ms Tay for your support and guidance in every aspects and also help me to develop my abilities in band and in school. It is such an honour with all your sacrifices towards the band. Thanks for choosing me as the Leader of the band. With all the leadership qualities that I had learnt, I will apply it in life also.

''Darlings of YSSB'' - Ms Tan.

I remembered when I was in Secondary 1, when I was assigned to choose an instrument that I want to play by Mr Wong..

Mr Wong: What instrument do you want to play?
Me: I want to play the piano.

*Hafiiz, Fadil and the rest if you are going to read this I'm sure all of you are going to laugh at me! LOL.

Hmm.. From that day onwards I learned a lot about music and all the names of the different instruments. I am glad that I played the Tenor Saxophone. Hahaa. SAXOPHONIST ROCKS OK?!

I missed every moment in band. In SYF 2003, all the Secondary 1 juniors joined the competition although we are not that good as the seniors. But I think our batch shows courage and perseverence. We had intensive practices and sectionals. Thanks to the ex-seniors that helped us out. In the end, we made it through the competiton though we didn't get any medal. It was a great experience for me to perform at Victoria Concert Hall.
Special thanks to Mr Wong, for exposing me into band music and also kept my passion burning. :)

Not forgetting our conductor, Mr Lawrence Tan. He has helped me a lot in music and can be a friend too. He might look fierce and strict in band practices, but if all of you get to know him very well, he's not that what you really think. Most of the music theories that he taught in band practices had benefitted me most. Though I can't continue to create another YSSB history, I will continue support YSSB endlessly! :) THANK YOU MR TAN!

Ok.. To all my musically-fun YSSB members, I want all of you to work extremely hard for the upcoming SYF 2007. Since we had won 2 silver medals, I want all of you to get at least a medal. If possible, another SHINY SILVER! :D OK?? So, to achieve this, each and everyone of you must have the 'never-say-die' attitude like what Mr Tan said. I will come back to help all of you if you need my help. To my saxophone section, please recruit at least 4 players including 1 baritone sax player ok? The woodwinds, please practice more on the running notes for the set piece. I know it is not easy, I believe all of you can make it. :) If not, Mr Tan will help all of you. To my brasses out there, please don't rush when playing fast tempo and also work on buzzing of the mouthpiece ok? ;)

*Shid! We will collate all the pix and short videos together for the SEc 1 orientation ok? SMS me when you are free. Then we all do the presentation together. Thanks.:)

I guess I end my post here. Hehee. Sorry for the long post eh? :X
Once again, Thank you for all your support! I will remember YSSB till my last breath!

With sincerity, heart and voice,

Sufian.
