so if you guys will come later then 8.30am on monday please tell me.

Yea..hayati is right . Fadil, Hafiz, Shahid and all other seniors and ex-seniors made for us a beautiful starting of our band by achieving bronze in this year SYF. So its our turn to build up the spirit of yishun band and the the most important is the discipline of our band. Mr Lawrence Tan said before : A discipline band makes a good band...No matter how good is the playing, as long as the discipline is bad, the band will be a bad band.... and so we had to ensure that our band is a good band....so i need the seniors to and this year junior to help to ensure the discipline of next year juniors.. As Miss tay is leaving us, Miss Tan will be the one who will very busy next year with her band stuff and her work stuff ....so i hope that we can do our things properly that Miss tan told us to do and make her less angry. And Miss Tay...we will be missing you when u leave us but the band room will always be open for you to come in to take a look at us...At last i represent the band that Miss Tan, Congratulation to your wedding and wish you a blissful marriage....and Miss Tay and Mr Tan, we wish you have a successful career in your life!

If not shawn, rongping and myself will have a hard time collecting it from you guys. for the 4E/5N people, please pass it to mstan before your english paper on monday. MUST!

so yesterdays band practice was quite fun .
we at first played invicible warrior . but under shawn yap .
then when mr tan was about to reach , he gave a quick call to shawn
and asked us to side read ASIAN SELECTION 1 . by Mr Mitsuo Nonami .
like . shawn was kind of shocked cause its a hard piece .

when we received the piece . i was shocked . very .
the high notes are notes i have never tried playing .
and even the third has quite high notes . what about the 1st and 2nd .
i was almost going to faint . ahaa . but luckily i didnt .
so we tried the piece .. but it doesnt sound that nice uhs .
so mr tan came then we played that song .
we had difficulties but it was A-okay .

then in that piece was song malay songs like
BURUNG PIPIT TULI
1 2 3 SAYANG SEMUANYA
DAHIL SAIYO

and the rest cannot remember .
we got almost the whole piece done but it was quite a fun practice
yesterday . mr tan talked about the key signature again .
then about sharps and all . very fun .
the attendance was great , almost all came .
felicia , natasha , wendy , xueli , nicola , atikah ,
yueting , hanis , hayati , adrian , haziqah , shawn ,
rong ping , joseph , haizair , dini , zulkhairi , amalina
yeah , and also big hafiz . well , all came except for
jeremiah . but he had his reasons .

my 2nd post here ,

aniway , i want to write about just nows band practice .
well , the number is also very small ..
hmm only about 15 members.. yeah , 15 only . imagine ..
haishh .. but it was okay .. we played a new piece ..
it was called SUPERTRAMP . and inside it got 3 other songs .
firstly the logical song , its raining again . and breakfast something .
hees. i forget the other word. btw its a very nice song and upbeat .
well , we had difficulty but yeah we did it quite smoothly .

everybody did a wonderful job. but yeah just now there was one new
member . miss missy (:
tiaos . i know very lame.. but it was softtoy tortoise..
like felicia held onto it then mr tan keep disturbing her and the tortoise
till we all kept laughing and our stomach hurt .
so yeah .

hmm after band guess what .. our store room is
back to square 1 . haishh . its soo messy .
i cant explain . so somebody suggest to have another
spring cleaning . haish. its gonna be a tiring one ..
its also because just now were using the timpani so thats why the room became
even messier .
so . i hope the attendance would be better .
and the playing too . that includes me .. well , my
high notes are bad.. bjhfbjn
undescribable .
so i think thats all for just nows band practice .

so , well the blog is dying soon enough so tthats why im gonna post something
about yesterdays sec 1 practice .. my first post here ..
aniway , yesterday the sec 1s attendance was getting from bad to worse...
starting , is always full .. but now its only half of the band .. some even said
band is boring and lame.. but its the way .. u guys dont play properly of course
mr tan has to repeat it again and again till u guys improve ..

yesterday there were no flutes at all only felicia ..
clarinet only 3 juniors .. horn only 1 ...
eupho had two girls but 1 said has something which i think wasnt really true ..
so then trombones two girl didnt came and claim to want to quit band ..
i was like HDBSMNBSKUFB..
very very angry at them cause form the start they were aware that
u cant quit band when u once in it ..
tuba only 1 came .. saxophone keith and luqing came ..
3 trumpeters
so yeah .. see how litle people there were ...
only 13 juniors .. wahs...
then yesterday they played till quite far .. 80 plus already ..
mr tan said that they will join the main band during august after national day.
well i hope they will be fantastic by then ..

so yeah . i hope all juniors would buck up and remember all the fingering
and notes yah .. ahah (:

• On tuesday 15/5. once you report to school, please meet Rongping where ever you can or after school in the canteen to pass her the money for those who ordered the syf photos and you guys know who you are. ASAP.
• Sec 2s to 5s will start the band on Tue 15/5 and sec 1 on 16/5. There will be no practice for the seniors on 18/5.
• On 18/5, all the new leaders are to report to Ms Tan after school for stock checking. So no borrowing of instruments this week. All instruments must be returned. Anyone holding on to the instruments, please return it on tuesday.
• Annual BBQ will be on 19/5, Sat. more details will be given to u people when band starts. So pleaseeeeee keep on a look out.

So SYF for all Performing Arts group has ended. Hmm. Idk if YSS did well but wth, we got 2 golds!

Indian Dance - Gold
Malay Dance - Bronze
Chinese Dance - Bronze
Drama - Gold

quite proud/shocked that our school's D'lite club had gotten a Gold. Well, they got a C.O.P last SYF and yeah. From C.O.P to Gold? ahaha. Real suprising. And.... sadly no silver this year. I thought the Choir could get a silver but Ms Lovy Ng said they're lucky enough to get a Bronze despite the strict judging. (you decide...)

So yeah. That's all for now. Haha.

just wanna say a very big thank you to the seniors. who has been helping me and guiding me. i'm really happy that i'm in this band. i remebered, when i first join yssb, there ain't much friends i knew there. but somehow, now we're like so close. people like saiyidah. she's very nice to me. very friendly. and not forgetting fian and fiiz. they made me laugh out loud most of the time. they make me feel welcome in the band. i'm very touched la. and not forgetting ex-seniors. yiyin is very nice to me too. & everybody. when i first started playing in my section, i didn't know anyone of them. i didn't dare to talk. maybe i'm kinda shy i think. so, overtime, i got closer with them. i'm glad. and also everybody in the band. i've became a better player since i came into this band. georgina has taught me alot. the seniors too. once again, just wanna say THANK YOU TO THE SENIORS!<3 i will never forget all those things you seniors have taught me. and thank you Mr Tan. for every single thing you've taught.

hello hello! so yesterday was the last day for all 4Es, 5Ns and for dyana too. sigh. everything had happened too fast! aha.

lets see if i can rmbr eveything vividly.

Sec1.
idk why i joined band. making music was cool to me, back then. so i pulled dyana with me to join the band. wheee. mstan and mohan (QM) was taking out all the unused instruments. and then sir pointed out the trombone to me. it was the bass trombone then. (black case). when mohan openned the casing, and set up the instrument. I WAS LIKE O________________O cause it was huge and long and weird and all.

sharool was my senior. okay, he wasn't such a great senior cause you know, he is a very quiet person. he taught me the Bb scale. and yeah. that's abt it. then when i joined the main band. sharool was the same. ahahaha. so out of 10 main band prac, i can honestly say i played well in 1 prac. LORL.

i hated band when i was in sec1. i wished i cud've quit. cause band was sooooo tough. oh yeah, i rmbred one time where we all gotta bring home instuments. (*i had no friends back then. only with dyana and agnes.) so me dyana and agnes, planned to play under dyana's block after band prac. HAHA.

sec2

i was a QM! with shahid too. mark and mohan were qm seniors. we were moving the instruments from the container room up to the new store room (current bandroom). yeah. me and mark stayed in the store room, labelling cabinets and writing down no. of instruments, uniform and all. ahha. something cool.


then it was SYF2005. choice piece: dawn of a new day. great piece. JM from eupho was trnsferred to trombon, and sharool back to euhpo. JM was plying 1st trb. ahah. with new instru sommore! haha. he was the best trb in sir's eyes. ahaha. WANEY was playing 2nd and ME 3rd. but all positions wrong when i checked them this yr. ahahha. F sharp, i played position 1. i didn't know wth the sharps and flats were. idk what those alternative positions and all.i cant sustain 8 counts on my tuning note. my embrochure was wrong, and i was playing 3rd trmbne.

competition, we got COP. i cryed like asdfghjkl cause it was my first and i didnt pitch my top F note for the lowerbrass solo in dawn of a new day. gees.


then we chg instructor. eveything was fine la. back to basics nd all. so now u all know how horrible i was when i was in sec1 and 2.

Sec 3. 2006.
fruitful year. i could play 2nd and 3rd trombone. so we practiced hard for competiton in july. i played 3rd for tournai cause i was the only one who could pitch low F hahaha and played 2nd for blueridge. and we got a silver! we won AI ah. ahahhaa. the feeling.. wow. like, first every silver. ahahhaa. really suprising. ahh. first silver in 2006.


oh, my post was uniform master! with shahid still. ahah.


so we continued to soar, and came back with a silver at the yr end trip at KL. it was a memoooorable trip! ahahhaha. i wish i could type everything in detail. oh, i could play 1st too. and i pitch top F. ahahahaha. oh yeah, if not for my senior HAFIZZZZZZ, i guess my trombone section would be dead long ago. hah! =D

oh yeah, band geek keper? ahah.

Sec4.


so im the secretary. hahaa. yes i know, im not the best secretary ever, besides yrs truly: yiyin. haha.
last year. if i knew, since sec1, band was this fun. i shouldn't have skipped so many practices in sec1 and 2. the passion wasn't there yet. heh. SYF year. i played 3rd and 2nd trombone for syf. me and the trombers built a relationship. more close and understanding and all. yeah.

idk what else to say. just too many things which idk how to rephrase it.




A message for dearest hayaaaaaaaaaaati aka kakya.
you're gonna make a drastic chg from 3rd trb, to 1st. cause u cant let the sec1s play 1st ya'noe. and consider yrself lucky cause you know allllll positions and alll the sharps and flats, dynamics and all. hah. when i was in sec2, idk how to clean my instru, use which oil, wth sharps, flats and dynamics were. hope you can raise the sec1 kiddos, just like how you are lah eh. do yr best and yeah. ahhaa. anything just sms. I BET URE GONNA MISS ME AND JM! AHAH NW YOU GOT NO ONE TO TALK TO ON YR LEFT AND RIGHT. AHAHHAHAA. YOU'RE GONNA SEE THE SEC1S PLAYING 2ND AND 3RD AND YOU PLAYING 1ST. AHAHAHHAHA.
